With all the news from Chile today ~ 8.8 WOW.... I thought I'd let you know there was an earthquake in Oklahoma today too. Luckily it was ALOT smaller than the one in Chile. I cannot imagine how scary it must have been for the folks in Chile to go through the ground shaking and dangers that followed. Scary stuff. Makes you realize just how tiny we are on this dynamic planet. Squaters, really! If some bonehead comes out of the woodwork and says the "earth is angry because of global warming" someone please smack them upside the head, HARD.
Here's a map of the earthquake prone areas of the USA just to keep you up at night....
This map shows relative shaking hazards in the United States and Puerto Rico. During a 50-year time period, the probability of strong shaking increases from very low (white), to moderate (blue, green, and yellow), to high (orange, pink, and red). Map not to scale. Source: USGS
